- 10 oz of chopped onion (approximately one large)
- 1 lb (500 g) red bell pepper, pureed
- 3 oz of pitted dates (approximately 12 Deglet Noor)
- 8 cloves of garlic
- 4 tbsp (60 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 ½ tbsp (23 ml) chili powder
- 2 tsp (10 ml) smoked paprika
- ½ tsp (3 ml) chipotle powder (to taste)
- ½ tsp (3 ml) crushed red pepper flakes (to taste)

- 1 ½ tbsp (23 ml) oregano
